This Paul Jaeger custom rifle came to us from an estate of a local rifle aficianado who ordered the gun new for himself. This rifle has been fired but remains in as new condition in every regard. We have the original cardboard box and packaging from Jaeger as well as an original Jaeger wooden shipping crate.

I had the good fortune of showing this rifle to Mr. Dietrich Apel who is Paul Jaeger's nephew who worked with Jaeger in during the era when this fine rifle was built. He recognized the fleur d'lis checkering as his own work (pre-1970)and was thrilled to see this magnificent rifle again. Mr. Apel identified the gun for me as follows: Supergrade Sporter, FN Mauser action, French walnut with unique rosewood tip. He remembered the engraving was most likely by Claus Willig. The inletting is second to none and the stylized rosewood forend tip is stunning...it looks like everything grew together as one. The cheekpiece is both graceful and functional.

This gun is built on a Mauser action with a 24" barrel in the venerable 7x57 caliber. The top of the barrel is marked "Paul Jaeger-Jenkintown,PA" Bolt, magazine release and magagine follower jeweled. No sights. It is fitted with a 2-7x Leupold scope.

The engraving on this rifle is a master's work...gold wire inlays surround the floorplate & triggerguard with a regal ram's bust on the quick release floorplate. Engraved grip cap. Two panel hand filed bolt, flat on the underside.

Sliding thumb safety. Adjustable trigger, sling swivels and recoil pad are all original to the gun.

This rifle is pristine and is a fantastic package for a collector of Jaeger rifles or anyone who appreciates a spectacular bolt action gun.
